Thank you for visiting our site. My name is Susan Ulatoski and I am the owner of salon Tivoli in Livermore. I’ve always been fascinated by hair. (Even as a young child I would color the hair of my dolls with magic markers!) It eventually turned into a 30-year career that I am still passionate about.
Our History
Prior to Tivoli I owned a small boutique salon in Pleasanton. For 10 years Susan’s Salon was a gathering place for my friends and clients to meet, relax, laugh and socialize. After all, this was the philosophy of beauty shops historically and I wanted to recreate a place for people to gather and also leave feeling like a million bucks. I opened Tivoli in November 2008 because I wanted to expand my “living room” gathering place. I needed to find the right location - one that would keep the boutique feel but on a larger scale. Then I was introduced to the historical Schenone building in downtown Livermore.
As I walked into the alluring loft of the Schenone building, I was overwhelmed by what I saw and felt. You know… one of those Ah-ha moments! It reminded me of a similar experience when I took a Toni and Guy hair cutting class in London. I remember I was cutting hair and listening to the Beatles. In front of me a window view of the city streets. I knew as I stood there and began to set my plans for Salon Tivoli at the Schenone building overlooking the fountains of downtown Livermore it was going to be remarkable.
The Schenone building in Livermore is a historical site with its own rich history.http://www.elivermore.com/photos/Hist_lvr_schenone.htm In June of 1914 the doors opened to the Bell Theater. The Bell was the first of many theaters to inhabit the Schenone. The last picture show to play was in 1958 at what was then the State Theater. You are invited to come by and say ”Hello” and see this fabulous old building with so much history. It is truly magnificent.

Salon Tivoli is a place where you can come to enjoy time away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Enjoy our music selection (we are known for our music). Relax in our “living room” area, sip on a beverage and maybe meet a new friend or two.
We have a strong team of educated stylists each of whom provide the type of professional service you want and deserve. We are a full service salon. Spend some time with us. Have your brows waxed, have a facial in our private esthetic room, or experience our “simple pleasures” pedicure or manicure. We pride ourselves on our attention to details important to our profession and your experience, and we stand behind our work.
My goal is that you will also have an "Ah-Ha" moment, like I did, when you step into Salon Tivoli.
